Police offer $1,000 reward for information on missing Md. hospital patient

UPDATE: Aug. 29, 1:30 p.m. -- The 49-year-old convicting sex offender who walked away from a court-ordered home visit has been found, according to reports.   ---

WASHINGTON– Maryland State Police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who gives information that leads to the safe capture of James Alexander Norris, Jr.

Norris, 49, walked away from a home visit in Hyattsville, Md. on Thursday afternoon. He is a convicted sex offender and a patient of a Maryland state hospital. Police say anyone who encounters Norris should avoid contact with him, and call police instead.
