Water gushes across Canal Road, lane blocked before Key Bridge

WASHINGTON — Water is gushing along inbound Canal Road/M Street in Georgetown, but it is not a water main break, according to D.C. Water.

A 30-inch water main is being drained so the utility can do valve work, says Pamela Mooring, spokeswoman for D.C. Water.

The work has blocked the left of two right turn lanes that lead onto the outbound Key Bridge  from inbound Canal Road/M Street.

The work was scheduled, but Mooring is not certain that it will be wrapped up by the afternoon drive.
