China seizes alcohol spiked with Viagra

WASHINGTON — Investigators in China seized 5,300 bottles of alcohol laced with Viagra.

Now  two distillers — Guikun Alcohol Plant and the Deshun Alcohol Plant — are being investigated by Chines police for putting the impotence treatment drug into a grain liquor product known as baijiu, Rueters reports.

Customers were told that the spirits had “health-preserving” qualities, the BBC reports.

In June, Chinese officials confiscated 100,000 pounds of smuggled meat, some of which was more than 40 years old, the BBC reports.
