Little girl shot Friday in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON — A girl who has been reported as young as 8 years old in age was shot Friday night in Southeast D.C., according to the District’s Metropolitan police.

The child was shot in the arm and rushed to a hospital, NBC 4 Washington reports. She is expected to be okay.

The shooting occurred about 9:20 p.m. on the 300 block of Ridge Road SE, police said.

In another shooting taking place in Southeast D.C. this week, a 3-year-old girl, Dalis Cox, was shot and killed Wednesday night. Police say her 7-year-old brother accidentally fired at her.  That shooting occurred on the 600 block of 46th Place SE in Benning Ridge.
