Man reported missing a week ago found under tree limb in Md.

WASHINGTON — Officials found a man reported missing a week ago trapped under a big tree limb in Prince George’s County.

On July 20, 66-year-old Larry Shaddy was reported missing from a veteran’s home along Ardwick-Ardmore Road in Springdale, Maryland. On Monday, a passer-by spotted Shaddy trapped under a tree limb in the 9000 block of Ardwick-Ardmore Road, says Prince George’s County Fire Department Mark Brady.

The passer-by flagged down a nearby building inspector for help and, with the help of Prince George’s County Fire Department, Shaddy was rescued.

Brady says it looks like the man fell down a steep embankment and got stuck under an already fallen tree. County firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free him.

Shaddy was dehydrated and had injuries to his lower legs, but he is expected to survive.

It is not yet clear how long Shaddy was trapped under the tree.
