Metro police ask for help identifying person after officer assaulted

WASHINGTON — Metro Transit Police are asking for help identifying a person of interest after an officer was assaulted.

 According to Metro police, the assault happened around 3:15 p.m. on July 20 at the Largo Town Center station. Police have not said how the individual pictured is connected to the investigation.

Anyone who can help identify the person in the images provided by police should call 202-962-2121. Tips can also be submitted via text message to “MyMTPD” (696873).

At this time, police say there are no warrants for the person they are trying to identify in connection to the case.
