D.C. police seek 3 of interest in shooting of teenager

WASHINGTON — A teenage boy is in grave condition after a shooting early Tuesday morning, and D.C. police now have pictures of men who might help solve the case.

Police want help identifying three people of interest related to the shooting, which happened about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on 28th Street at Naylor Road in Southeast D.C. The video images released by police appear to be taken from a surveillance camera on a bus.

When the shooting happened across the street from the Naylor Gardens apartment complex, a neighbor told The Washington Post, she heard a loud boom, then rushed outside and saw a young man standing over the teen, who was lying in the street.

The shooting happened within blocks of where Charnice Milton, 27, was killed last month while she was being used as a human shield by a gunman’s intended target. Milton was standing at a bus stop on Good Hope Road at Naylor Road. No suspects have been identified in Milton’s death.
