Va. teen dies after taking party drug at concert

WASHINGTON – A Loudoun County teen has died after she took a party drug while attending a concert in D.C.

Victoria Callahan, 19, of Sterling, was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center after she reported feeling sick at a concert at Echostage.

Echostage staff called an ambulance shortly after midnight Thursday, according to a D.C. police report.

The teen was under the influence of “Molly,” which is a street name for the drug Ecstasy, a hallucinogen. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition, according to the report.

However MedStar Washington Hospital confirmed to WTOP that Callahan died later Thursday morning.

D.C. police say they are investigating the young woman’s death.

In 2013, a University of Virginia student died after she collapsed from an Ecstasy overdose at the same concert venue in Northeast D.C.
