1 killed, another injured in Montgomery County crash

WASHINGTON – One person has died, and another was injured late Sunday night in a crash in Montgomery County, Maryland.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Muncaster Mill, just north of Bowie Mill roads in Derwood.

Montgomery County police say a woman who was driving a white Ford Taurus northbound died when her vehicle and a black Ford Taurus traveling southbound collided.

Police will release her name after her family has been notified.

Police say the other driver, Juan Francisco Diana, 34, of Silver Spring, Maryland sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a Montgomery County Fire spokesperson, one person was killed and another was taken to a hospital.

Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.

Muncaster Mill Road was closed for several hours during the police investigation. It has reopened.
