WASHINGTON – A man accused of jumping the White House fence in April rejected a plea deal in court Tuesday and has requested a jury trail.

Jerome R. Hunt, 54 of Sacramento, California, was charged with unlawful entry after he jumped the fence on the south side of the White House on April 19.

His misdemeanor case was transferred to a different D.C. Superior Court judge, who will preside over Hunt’s next status hearing set for May 28.

Hunt was also ordered held in jail without bail. He was previously released to a halfway house but he refused to return there.

He has pleaded not guilty and has requested a jury trial.

This was the sixth time someone had jumped the fence in 2014 and the 16th in the past five years, according to the Secret Service.
