Fairfax County police welcome an adorable recruit

WASHINGTON — One of the newest recruits at the Fairfax County Police Department is getting ready to assume her role as the long ears of the law.

CJ is just seven weeks old, and arrived at the department last week from Alabama. She’s a bloodhound, and once she’s trained up she’ll join Bolt and Silas as K9 officers, helping their human colleagues find missing people with her native-born tracking abilities.

For now, however, she’s just lolling about. Adorably.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
