Black, Fallon take on Extreme’s 1991 ballad ‘More Than Words’

WASHINGTON — This is more comedy than words can say.

Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon, both music connoisseurs and musicians in their own right, took on  90’s prom staple, Extreme’s “More Than Words,” on Monday’s Tonight Show, shooting their own shot-for-shot version of the 1991 MTV hit video. It’s a simple set, black and white, but the saccharine lyrics and somewhat self-indulgent pose in the original take was perfect fodder for the two comedians — especially Black, whose facial expressions poke rich fun at lead singer Gary Cherone’s handsome ham-handedness.
