Downed wires close stretch of Columbia Pike in Arlington

WASHINGTON — Heads up drivers – give yourself some extra time if you usually take Columbia Pike in Arlington during your travels. The roadway is closed in both directions between South Greenbrier Street and South Dinwiddie Street, and it could remain closed all day. A tree brought down some live wires. Crews are working to clear the area but the road could be closed for several hours. There are no reports of outages in that area.  Metrobus routes are being detoured, including 16A, 16B, 16E,  16G, 16H, 16J, 16K, 16P, and 16X.
