Athletes jump more than 1,000 feet from Dubai tower (Video)

WASHINGTON — Even if you’re sitting in a safe chair, you may have trouble looking at this: A team of complete lunatics — no, wait — a team of extreme jumpers recently hurled themselves off the Princess Tower, in Dubai, the world’s second-tallest residential building.

It was all part of a Dream Jump event in which people jumped off a perfectly good platform about 400 meters in the air — that’s about 1,300 feet — 558 times in a few days.

Of course, they took video — why do it otherwise? Odds are you’ll grab onto the arms of your chair at least once before it’s through:

A Starbucks barista who was publicly shamed by a customer after asking her to wear a face mask has received nearly $80,000 in virtual tips after a Facebook post that criticized him went viral. Lenin Gutierrez, 24, was working his usual shift at a San Diego Starbucks on a Monday morning when a woman -- who was not wearing a mask -- walked in and attempted to place an order, he told CNN.
