‘The Rock’ eats 10 pounds of food a day

WASHINGTON — It takes a lot of food to fuel Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s physique — in fact, nearly 10 pounds a day.

Forty-two-year-old Johnson recently outlined his daily dietary plan for Muscle & Fitness magazine.

The diet consists of seven protein-heavy meals. Cod, totaling 36 ounces, shows up in four of those meals.

According to Walt Hickey of the website FiveThirtyEight, the meal plan indicates that Johnson eats about 10 pounds of food each day.

“Johnson eats roughly 1,000 calories a day in cod alone. Annualized, Johnson eats about 821 pounds of cod per year,” Hickey writes.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the average American man in his forties consumes 2,734 daily. Hickey says Johnson’s diet adds up to 5,165 calories per day.
