2 Fairfax Co. pharmacies robbed on Easter

WASHINGTON – Instead of jelly beans and white chocolate bunnies, a hooded man armed with a gun visited two CVS/Pharmacy locations in Fairfax County this Easter Sunday in search of drugs, police say.

Fairfax County police aren’t sure whether the two incidents are related. But a man armed with a pistol demanded drugs from the pharmacy counter at a CVS on Silverbrook Road in Lorton and at a CVS on Pickwick Road in Centreville.

About 4 p.m. Sunday, the man showed a pistol to the pharmacy staff in Lorton and demanded a variety of drugs. He took the medications and left.

An attempted robbery was reported at the Centreville location about 10:30 p.m. That robber also demanded a variety of medications and showed a gun, but he left before taking the medication, police say.

The robber was described as a white man in his mid 20s. He was about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and thin. He may have been driving a dark silver pickup truck. At both locations he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or to submit a text tip to TIP187 then the message to CRIMES (274637).
