Montgomery County police car involved in crash

WASHINGTON – A police cruiser was involved in a crash in Montgomery County Tuesday night.

It happened shortly after 9 at Connecticut Avenue and Bel Pre Road. Captain Paul Starks, with the Montgomery County Police, says a woman driving south on Connecticut Avenue made a left turn at Bel Pre Road, striking and disabling a police cruiser that was headed north on Connecticut.

She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the officer was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police are still investigating.
