WASHINGTON — The man charged in a series of shootings, including one near the National Security Agency, will not be getting bond.

Hong Young was in Anne Arundel District Court Monday morning for a case where he’s suspected of carrying out five separate shootings, although he’s only been formally charged in one case.

Young is charged with attempted murder, related to the wounding of a 61-year-old man near a Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland last month.

No one was killed in the shootings. But they led police to be on high alert and evoked memories of the sniper shootings that terrorized people in the Washington area in 2002.
