Police investigate possible murder-suicide in Md.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating what they think may be a murder-suicide in St. Mary’s County.

The county police say that at around 4 p.m. Sunday, they went to a home on Rivendell Way, in Chaptico, Maryland, to check on the welfare of two women who live there.

Once there, they found the occupants — Victoria H. Reeves, 58, and Janet M. Little, 45 — dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The two were found in a bedroom in the home, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Autopsies are being conducted, and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities say there is no indication the deaths were the result of a third party.
