Wiehle-Reston East Metro station closed for hour after flooding

WASHINGTON – The Wiehle-Reston East Metro station was closed shortly at around 8:30 Thursday night after a pipe broke and flooded the station.

Metro says Fairfax Fire and Rescue was responding to reports of fire under a rail car on an out-of-service train when a fire stand pipe broke, sending water rushing into the station.

The station was reopened about an hour later.
