WASHINGTON — Work doesn’t stop just because the snow keeps falling. New research shows that teleworking may be more desirable for both employees and employers.

Workers are embracing teleworking, and many say working from home is better than getting a raise.

A new Global Workplace Analytics study found that nearly 80 percent of workers would rather do business from home, and more than a third would take that option over a salary increase.

The study found that if employees telecommute half the time, businesses could save more than $10,000 per worker per year.

In another study, National Geographic suggests that working from home produces the same happiness compared to a $40,000 salary increase, according to LifeHacker.

Inc. magazine suggests employers establish clear expectations, focus on prioritizing tasks and keep the line of communication open by video-chatting.
