Hyattsville water main break leaves 5 houses without water

WASHINGTON — A water main break in Hyattsville, Maryland, has left several houses without water and damaged a roadway Thursday morning.

The break is at 43rd and Adelphi Road and repairs could take all day, according to Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission representatives.

The 10-inch break occurred at about 5 a.m. and raised the pavement about 8 inches. Earlier, it blocked all lanes of westbound Md. 410 between U.S. 1 and Adelphi Road. As of 6:45 a.m., one lane right lanes gets by on westbound Md. 410.

WSSC says five houses in the area are without water because of the break.

Below is a map with the location of the break.
