Students in custody after fight on Fairfax County school bus

WASHINGTON — Two boys were taken into police custody following a fight Tuesday afternoon aboard a Fairfax County School bus.

A spokesman for the school system tells WTOP the bus was taking students home from Bryant Alternative High School in Alexandria when the fight happened.

Alexandria police responded to the bus at Duke and North Early Streets. Eventually the 14 and 15-year-old students were detained for obstruction and assault on police.

Police say the students got into a physical fight, but there were no major injuries to either child or any police officer.

WTOP’s Michelle Basch contributed to this report.
