Applications roll in for shelter’s dachshund and pit bull mix (Video)

WASHINGTON — A shelter pup in Georgia is one lucky dog after pictures of him went viral and adoption applications began pouring in.

Rami is a dachshund and pit bull mix. Imagine a dachshund or basset hound body with a pit bull’s head.

A really big pit bull head.

Since the Moultrie Colquitt County Humane Society posted Rami’s bio and photos on Facebook, it was shared more than 30,000 times and news organizations have started to tell the story.

Applications for his adoption are pouring in according to the shelter. And while it is appreciative of all the interest it does remind interested adopters that he’s not the only animal in need.

“Please remember there are lots of homeless animals in shelters unique as Rami. Visit your local shelter soon to see other sweet dogs and cats in need. Please remember to spay and neuter,” reads a post on Facebook.

Before putting in an application for Rami, dog lovers should know that he’s a little hyper, doesn’t do well on a leash and needs training.

But he sure is cute.
