Greenbelt blaze sends elderly man to hospital

WASHINGTON — An apartment building fire has sent an elderly man to the hospital with injuries Saturday in Greenbelt, Maryland.

 

Prince George’s County Fire Chef  Marc Bashoor says the  fire broke out just before 5 a.m. at an apartment building on the 8400 block of Greenbelt Road next to Goddard Space Flight Center.

 

Bashoor said one elderly man was transported to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition  for smoke inhalation.

Fire officials said 18 people were displaced as a result of the fire, the cause of which  is still under investigation.
