One dead, one injured in SE D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON — A man was killed and a girl hurt in a shooting Wednesday night in Southeast DC.

NBC Washington reports it happened at about 8:30 p.m. along Randle Place near Martin Luther King Junior Avenue.

“There were a lot of people out on the street, there had been a recent game at the school so there were large crowds, a lot of people out walking,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier told NBC Washington.

The girl is in the hospital with minor injuries.

The police activity has King Avenue shut down.

Police say they’re looking for a male teen between 17 and 18 years old–wearing a black jacket, pants and a black hat.
