How often do you check your phone? There’s an app for that too

WASHINGTON — Do you have any idea how many times a day you check your phone? Some studies suggest that we check our phones about 150 times a day.

But the first step to correcting a behavior is knowing how often you are doing it.

If you want a reality check, that’s where the new app Checky comes in. It’s available for both the iPhone and Android. Checky helps to raise our awareness of how many times we really are checking our phones — and where we’re doing it.

The app also lets your friends see how many times you’ve checked your phone by sharing your stats on Twitter or Facebook. But remember — when you check Checky, that’s one more time that you’ve checked your phone that day.
