Tropical Storm Vance moving slowly in Pacific

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Vance is moving slowly in the Pacific far from Mexico’s coast.

The storm’s maximum sustained winds early Friday are near 45 mph (75 kph) with gradual strengthening forecast over the next few days.

The storm is centered about 450 miles (720 kilometers) south of Acapulco, Mexico, and is moving west-southwest near 3 mph (6 kph).

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says Vance is not an immediate threat to land.
