Maple Leafs say Joffrey Lupul has broken hand

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without left wing Joffrey Lupul, who broke a bone in his right hand in a fall at practice on Thursday.

The team announced the injury shortly before the start of Friday night’s game at Columbus.

Lupul, who has two goals and an assist in nine games this season, is out indefinitely, according to a post on the team’s official Twitter account.

The 31-year-old Lupul has 186 goals and 202 assists in 609 games. He was third on the Maple Leafs last season with 22 goals.
