Police: SUV crashes into house in western Md.

FAIRPLAY, Md. (AP) — State police say a driver crashed a sport-utility vehicle into a house in western Maryland, injuring herself and a passenger.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday on Sharspburg Pike in Fairplay. Police say 22-year-old Cindy Guemez-Alonso of Sharpsburg was behind the wheel of the SUV. Police say the vehicle ran off the road, hit two sign posts and crashed head-on into the home, causing major damage.

Guemez-Alonzo and her passenger, 23-year-old Brian Rhodes, were taken to a hospital for treatment. No one inside the home was injured.

Police say Guemez-Alonzo was caused with negligent driving.
