Child airlifted to D.C. after TV falls on him in Md.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a 4-year-old boy was flown to a hospital in the District of Columbia after a television fell on him at a home in Hagerstown.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown (http://bit.ly/1zsE6JO ) reports the boy was flown to Children’s National Medical Center on Friday evening. The paper says a 911 center supervisor said the severity of the child’s injuries was unclear and that the child was flown to the hospital more as a precautionary measure than because of serious injury.

The supervisor says the child reportedly climbed up onto a dresser, causing the television to slide off and land on him around 7:30 p.m.
