VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mark Warner and Republican rival Ed Gillespie have made their final joint appearance.

Warner and Gillespie appeared at a joint candidate forum in Virginia Beach on Thursday morning.

The forum was hosted by the Central Business District Association, with each candidate answering questions separately. Topics focused on sea level rise, military spending cuts and the federal government’s response to the Ebola virus.

Warner also touted endorsements from Republicans while Gillespie noted Warner usually sides with President Barack Obama on issues the president takes a stance on.

Warner and Gillespie had agreed to appear in eight joint public forums throughout the state before the election. Two of those appearances included televised debates.
