Staunton teen indicted in golf course slaying

STAUNTON, Va. (AP) — A 16-year-old Staunton boy will be tried as an adult on charges of killing a mentally disabled man on a city golf course.

Media outlets report that a grand jury charged Isaiah Stuart as an adult with first-degree murder on Monday.

Stuart is accused of killing 26-year-old Julian Parrott near the 18th hole at the Gypsy Hill Park course in May. Police say Parrott was stabbed nearly 40 times.

A city employee discovered Parrott’s body while cutting grass.

Stuart is being held without bond.
