Saints’ Goodwin injures left leg

DETROIT (AP) — New Orleans Saints center Jonathan Goodwin left Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions in the second quarter with a leg injury.

He will not return.

Goodwin appeared to hurt his left ankle shortly before halftime when a Detroit player fell onto it. He was able to walk off the field, but the injury looked painful.

New Orleans also lost nose tackle Brodrick Bunkley in the second half to a concussion, and fellow defensive lineman Glenn Foster left with a knee injury.

Saints running back Pierre Thomas was shaken up after a hard hit near the sideline in the third quarter. He left the game, but there was no immediate word on what his injury was.
