Eastern Illinois routs Southeast Missouri 52-13

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — Jalen Whitlow threw two touchdown passes and ran for three more, and Eastern Illinois’ defense forced five turnovers to beat Southeast Missouri 52-13 on Saturday.

Whitlow connected with Adam Drake with a 50-yard strike in the first quarter, and hit Drake again with a 5-yard touchdown late in the third. Whitlow ran for 3, 13, and 2-yard scores. He finished with 213 yards passing without an interception, and ran for 75.

Deonte Jackson recovered a fumble, Jourdan Wickliffe had two interceptions, and Anthony Goodman and Anthony Standifer had one. Jimmy Lera added a 96-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth for Eastern Illinois (2-5, 2-1 Ohio Valley).

Eastern Illinois bounced back after having its 13-game conference win streak snapped last week against Eastern Kentucky.

Kyle Snyder threw for 210 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions for Southeast Missouri (4-4, 2-2).
