Stabbed man dies near Portland, Oregon, City Hall

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 43-year-old man was stabbed and wandered bleeding through a downtown Portland, Oregon, park before dying on a sidewalk near City Hall.

The man found early Thursday was identified as Marc Stephen Sundin. Police say he died from a stab wound to the chest and they have not identified a suspect.

Officers tell The Oregonian (http://bit.ly/1rfMN0j ) that given the time and location, they suspect the stabbing involved people living on the streets.

Investigators say it appears the man was stabbed near a convenience store and got a few blocks before collapsing at a corner. They say they followed a trail of blood through Chapman Square park.

The park is among a plaza and open space flanked by government buildings.

A federal officer found the man at 2:25 a.m.
