John Spencer-Churchill dies at 88

LONDON (AP) — John Spencer-Churchill, the Duke of Marlborough and a cousin and godson of British wartime leader Winston Churchill, has died. He was 88.

Blenheim Palace said Spencer-Churchill died Thursday morning.

His son Jamie is expected to inherit his father’s title and become the 12th Duke of Marlborough.

Prime Minister David Cameron said Spencer-Churchill will be deeply missed and praised his community involvement.

Spencer-Churchill had been married four times. He is survived by his wife and four children.
