WASHINGTON (AP) — Twenty-four World War II-era airplanes flew over Washington in honor of Disabled American Veterans.

The planes originated from the Culpeper Regional Airport and flew in formation down the Potomac River on Sunday. Planes could be seen soaring over the Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon.

The airplanes were T-6 Texan aircraft, the same models used to train pilots during World War II. Those airplanes are now commonly used in movies and during airshows.
