1st snow of season falls on Whiteface Mountain

WILMINGTON, N.Y. (AP) — The first snow of the season has fallen in the Adirondacks, where Whiteface Mountain has received a dusting.

The New York state Olympic Regional Development Authority says the mountain in Wilmington, near Lake Placid, had some light snow Thursday. ORDA (OR’-duh) operates the Whiteface ski area, which is scheduled to open for the winter season on Nov. 28.

The National Weather Service says low temperatures dipped into the 30s early Friday morning and will hit the lower 30s Friday night.
