WASHINGTON — At a time when the weekly NFL narrative includes the struggling and alleged decline of older quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Drew Brees, one 38-year-old QB is still dealing like a boss.

Peyton Manning put himself even deeper into the NFL’s upper echelon Sunday, throwing for a career-best 479 yards and 4 TDs to become just the second player in NFL history to throw for over 500 career touchdowns. At 503, he’s a virtual lock to surpass Brett Favre’s record of 508 within the next couple of weeks.

What’s even more amazing is that Manning was just one play away from setting a new record for passing yards in a game as well. He’s easily the league’s most prolific passer.

To put this in perspective, it’s taken 36 Browns quarterbacks a total of 28 seasons to throw 500 touchdowns (more on Cleveland QBs in a bit). I won’t even try to wade into the Redskins’ sordid recent history at QB.
