Monmouth eases past Robert Morris 51-20

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Brandon Hill threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, Lavon Chaney had 163 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns, and Monmouth beat Robert Morris 51-20 on Saturday.

Neal Sterling added 144 yards receiving for the Hawks (4-1), who racked up 523 yards of total offense. The Monmouth defense forced six Robert Morris turnovers, recovering four fumbles while intercepting quarterback Derik Abbott twice, one of which was returned 40-yards for a touchdown by Kevin Butler.

Abbott had 163 yards passing and two touchdowns and Rameses Owens finished with 154 yards rushing to lead the Colonials (0-5), who fell behind 37-0 until an Abbott 19-yard touchdown pass to Sean Gavin with 11 seconds left in the third broke their scoring drought.
