ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The U.S. Naval Academy has joined President Barack Obama’s “It’s On Us” campaign to encourage college students to take responsibility in stopping sexual assault.

The academy released a YouTube video Tuesday. Midshipmen talk about the importance of creating an environment where students feel safe and respected.

The academy put its own brand on the campaign by including the school’s N-star logo in the “It’s On Us” phrase.

Midshipman Christopher DiOrio, the highest-ranking midshipman, says it’s about raising awareness, holding each other accountable and looking out for one another.

The academy had a case last year involving sexual assault allegations against three football players and a fellow student’s ability to consent to sex after heavy drinking. Charges against two were dropped. A third was acquitted in March.
