LONDON (AP) — Retired American soccer star Brian McBride is among five people appointed to a search committee to find Fulham’s next manager.

Cottagers chairman Shahid Khan, an American who also owns the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, selected McBride on Tuesday along with Danny Murphy, who like McBride is a former Fulham captain. McBride played for the Cottagers from 2004-08 and is a commentator in the U.S. for Fox.

Khan fired Felix Magath on Sept. 18 following seven months in charge, a span that saw Fulham relegated from the Premier League and drop to last place in the second-tier League Championship following an 0-6-1 start.

Former Sunderland forward and chairman Niall Quinn also in on the search committee along with Nike director David Daly and Fulham academy director Huw Jennings.

Khan told Fulham’s website: “I’ve got the right five men to help us find the right man for Fulham.”

Kit Symons is interim manager.
