Cowboys’ Carter out this week with quad strain

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Dallas linebacker Bruce Carter is out this weekend against Houston and could miss next week’s game at Seattle because of a strained quadriceps.

Carter said in a story on the team’s website Tuesday that a timetable for his return was 10 to 14 days.

The fourth-year player got hurt while chasing New Orleans running back Khiry Robinson on a 62-yard run in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ 38-17 victory Sunday.

Carter’s absence means each starting linebacker will have missed at least one game with an injury. Justin Durant was out two games with a groin injury, and Rolando McClain missed one with a groin problem as well.
