2 bank robberies, 1 attempt in Va.; 1 suspect

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Police in the Fredericksburg area say they believe the same man robbed or attempted to rob three banks in less than an hour.

The incidents occurred in rapid fire in Stafford and Spotsylvania, according to The Free Lance-Star (http://bit.ly/1owcyJq).

The first occurred in Stafford County when a man entered a bank and handed a note to the teller. He walked out of the bank empty-handed when the teller said she did not have large denomination bills, as he demanded.

Surveillance videos show the same man entering a BB&T branch, also in Stafford County. He said he had a weapon and he left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The last heist occurred in Spotsylvania County. He also said he had a gun and left with money.
