Driver killed, 2nd driver hurt in 2-vehicle crash

OLNEY, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County Police say one driver was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision on Olney.

It happened about 5:30 a.m. Monday on Olney-Laytonsville Road. Police say a pickup truck driven by 25-year-old Kenneth James Turner Jr. of Mount Jackson, Virginia, was traveling west when it drifted off the road.

Officers say the truck overcorrected, crossed into the eastbound lanes and hit an SUV driven by 51-year-old Leanna Muller of Laytonsville.

Police say Muller died at a local hospital and Turner was taken to a hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

Investigators say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in crash.
