Braves’ Class A team moving to Zebulon in 2015

ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves’ advanced Class A team is moving from Lynchburg, Virginia, to Zebulon, North Carolina.

The move announced by the Braves on Monday becomes effective in 2015. The Braves say they have reached a two-year player development contract with the city of Zebulon.

The team will be known as the Carolina Mudcats and will remain a member of the Carolina League. The team will play at Five County Stadium, approximately 25 miles east of Raleigh.

Braves president John Schuerholz says the move allows the organization to continue its long-standing affiliation with the Carolina League.
