Jacksonville eases past Butler, 35-7

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Kade Bell threw for 401 yards and five touchdowns, including a 90-yard strike to Ulysses Bryant, to help Jacksonville beat Butler 35-7 on Saturday.

Bryant added 134 yards rushing on 15 carries for a Jacksonville offense that compiled 611 total yards.

The Dolphins (3-1, 1-0 Pioneer) scored the first 28 points of the game, all on Bell TD passes, before Butler (2-2, 0-1) ended its scoring drought late in the third on a 42-yard touchdown pass from Matt Shiltz to Marquese Martin-Hayes.

Shiltz threw for 296 yards and with one touchdown and one interception, and Martin-Hayes added 119 yards receiving to lead the Bulldogs.

The win was the third straight for Jacksonville after falling in its season opener to Southeastern Louisiana.
