Harvard outlasts Brown 22-14

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Scott Hosch threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score to lead Harvard over Brown, 22-14, on Saturday.

Harvard scored first on Hosch’s 9-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Fischer, but misses the extra point. Brown’s Marcus Fuller hooked up with Reiley Higgins for an 18-yard touchdown pass and the Bears took a 7-6 lead into intermission.

In the third quarter, Brown used a 95-yard drive to set up Andrew Coke’s 1-yard touchdown plunge and take a 14-6 lead. Later, after a short punt, Harvard took over in Brown territory and Paul Stanton, Jr. broke off a 43-yard touchdown run to make it 14-13. Stanton ran for 120 yards on the day.

Harvard pulled away in the fourth. An 11-play, 92-yard drive ended with Andrew Flesher’s 22-yard field goal, giving the Crimson a two-point lead with 8:47 left. Hosch ran for a 3-yard score with 2:07 left to clinch it.
