Canucks beat Flames 3-1

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Calgary native Hunter Shinkaruk scored for Vancouver in the Canucks’ 3-1 exhibition victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Shinkaruk tipped a shot from Kent Huskins on net that was stopped, but batted the rebound out of the air and past Brad Thiessen midway through the third period. Shinkaruk has two goals in two games.

Chris Higgins and Nicklas Jensen also scored for Vancouver (2-1-0). Sean Monahan scored for Calgary (2-2-0).

Eddie Lack started in goal for the Canucks and was perfect on 20 shots in the first period and a half. Joacim Eriksson finished, making 10 saves on 11 shots.
